The mid-fourteenth-century ‘Red Mausoleum’ may have been built for Sultan Muhammad Ibn Tughluq; however, it ended up as the tomb of an obscure troglodyte ascetic named Kabir al-Dina Awliya’. It is one of the finest monument of the pre-Mughal city, and one of the least known.
