The Twin Tower of the Sfinx State, 1962, collection Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester is the 'first version' of this sculpture and was cast in bronze.
The Twin Towers of the Sfinx State III , was exhibited in Paolozzi's solo exhibition held at Stadtische Kunstalle, Dusseldorf, 1969, cat no.3, at that time it was loaned by the Hanover Gallery, London, its current location is unknown.
Other 'Twin Towers' sculptures by Eduardo Paolozzi are Imperial War Museum, 1962, collection Munich, Lenbackhaus Museum, Wittgenstein at Cassino, 1963/1966, painted, collection Leeds City Art Gallery and Tower for Mondrian, 1963-4/1966, painted, private collection Dusseldorf.
